JUNE 2007Cellular Surplus Ltd, the parent company of Re:cycle Your Mobile are delighted to announce that they have become one of the first mobile phone recycling companies to be accredited as an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility under the new WEEE regulations for the recycling of mobile phones and multi-media devices. Steve Morris and Lou Fitzpatrick of Re:cycle Your Mobile accept an environmental award for the companies recycling initiative through Norfolk Schools, presented by the Chairman of Norfolk County Council. This scheme has raised over £20,000 for Norfolk Schools and diverted over one and a half tonnes of waste from landfill.
JANUARY 2007Redwings Horse Sanctuary's recycling scheme is a huge success! Between Christmas and New Year supporters of Redwings Horse Sanctuary, one of the biggest horse charities in the UK, received recycling envelopes asking for unused mobile phones and inkjet cartridges. They have certainly ‘taken the bit between their teeth' as Recycle Your Mobile has been inundated with handsets and inkjet cartridges, with several thousand coming back in the first few weeks. Schools Waste Action Club goes from strength to strength as Norfolk County Council launches an initiative with Recycle Your Mobile for school children to design their own recycling envelope. This winning design will be placed on 100,000 recycling envelopes to be distributed throughout Norfolk Schools and the winning school will get a recycled picnic table to put in the playground.
NOVEMBER 2006Sainsbury’s PLC launches mobile phone and inkjet recycling partnership with all funds raised going to Comic Relief. Sainsbury’s customers can pick up the recycling envelopes throughout stores nationwide.
SEPTEMBER 2006Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity hits milestone of £50,000 pounds raised by recycling mobile phones. This has helped to fund various projects including a learning laboratory, a waiting area and a lecture theatre.
DECEMBER 2005Norwich City Football Club hits milestone as it receives it’s 1000th mobile phone as part of the project to raise money for the Tactic Zone at Norwich City Academy based in Colney, Norwich. A presentation of £5000 pounds was made to Norwich City Supporter Charles Clarke by Steve Morris, Director of Recycle Your Mobile on the 17th December 2005. Let’s be having you!!!
NOVEMBER 2005Recycle Your Mobile opens new office in Hong Kong. Located in Kowloon this branch is utilising it’s position in the Asian market place to maximise resale values, creating opportunities for extended reuse of unwanted handsets from the UK diverting them from potential landfill.
SEPTEMBER 2005Norfolk Schools See the Benefits of Recycling. Norfolk Schools Waste Action Club’s mobile phone amnesty has received over 800 phones from schools in the region. All proceeds from this project will go directly back to the schools enabling them to buy new equipment, books, etc. |
