About us
side_aboutusBelieve it or not, we began our lives in mobile phone recycling in a potato barn back in 1999.  Since then we have expanded and invested in our dream, converting the barn into specially designed offices, workshops and warehouse space.

Our commitment is to the removal of unwanted mobile telephones (and now inkjet cartridges too) from peoples drawers & cupboards, putting them to good use rather than allowing them to end up in landfill sites around the UK.

We operate a Zero Landfill Policy within the business and this includes the recycling partners we work with who turn the handsets that are unsuitable for resale into frisbees, traffic cones and the like.  We don’t want anything that comes to Re:Cycle Your Mobile to end up as waste!

As part of our environmental commitment we operate with a Waste Management & Waste Carriers Licence and under the strict codes of practice required to be ISO 14001 and 9001 accredited.

In 2005 we decided to open a branch office in Hong Kong, this allows us to get much closer to ever expanding Asia Pacific market place, helping us to understand the needs of our customers in the developing world.

We pride ourselves on offering the partners we work with the best solutions to getting the most out of their recycling schemes.  Giving advice on marketing, logistics and customer care based on our experience running over 40 different schemes at any one time.

We were very proud to collect an award from the Norfolk Waste Partnership in 2006 for “Helping to establish a mobile phone recycling scheme for Norfolk Schools, raising over £25,000 for school funds and diverting 1.5 tonnes of phones and chargers from landfill.”

It is this dedication to the quality of our service that has helped us become a market leader in mobile phone recycling and to attract some impressive partners like Sainsbury’s and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity.  It has also meant that we can help smaller charities like Redwings Horse Sanctuary launch incredibly successful schemes.  They have raised over £7000 in the first month of their campaign in 2007!
